Mary Marg Helgenberger (born November 16 1958) is an American actor from the United States. Her professional career started in the 1980s, and first came to attention due to her portrayal of Siobhan Ryan on the soap opera daytime Ryan's Hope from 1982 to 1986. She is the eldest of four children. McCain completed her studies at Phoenix Country Day School. Additionally, she attended Xavier College Preparatory a Catholic private school exclusively for girls. In 2007, McCain graduated with an undergraduate degree in the field of Art History at Columbia University. The year after, she joined as co-host of the morning show The View, which she was host until 2021. For her work she was awarded the honor of four Daytime Emmy Award nominations. McCain is also a Daily Mail contributor after her 3-year tenure at The View. McCain also wrote four books, among them Dad John McCain (2008), My Dad John McCain (2008) Dirty Sexy Politics (2010) America You Sexy Bitch : A Letter to Freedom together with Michael Ian Black (2012) and Bad Republican (2022).
